 Secret Sauce

Your link to insightful, from the gut, game analysis reached by vague statistical interpretation and dedicated to enhancing your AmericasPool experience by raising your winning percentage.  Plus other crap.

I am the Masked One.  Feelin’ the Breeze.

The Patriots have Tom Brady.  The Packers have Aaron Rodgers.  The Colts have Pey.. oh never mind.  But the New Orleans Saints have Drew Brees.  Last nights MNF showdown between the Saints and Falcons was supposed to be a classic match up of two offensive powerhouses.  One looked like a powerhouse.  The other just…offensive.  Several teams have the firepower or the defensive ability to decide games.  The Saints have both.  Enroute to their victory the single season passing record that has stood since Marino in ‘84′ was broken by Mr Brees .  On a touchdown throw for good measure.  If you saw the game, I predict you saw your Super Bowl champions this year.  I guess you could say I’m feelin’ the Brees.

One week left to the playoffs.  Herein comes the difficulty for the amateur speculator.  With teams all ready in you wonder about not only the rosters but the motivation of the players.  Some are saving themselves for the games that “count”.  Others are still trying for a better seeding to gain the intangible advantage of playing at home or a sweet bye week.  Hence your personal prognosticator steps in to provide insight unknown to the so called experts.

As predicted, the Patriots won but failed to cover the spread.  Miami had a shut out going into the third quarter when the wind changed direction and Brady and company turned a 17-0 deficit into a 27-24 win.  New England is like a couple other teams.  They have an impressive offense but the defense is suspect.  That may win you a division championship or even a conference title, but not the big show.  Miami host the Jets.  No contest here as Miami is looking good and the Jets are well, lets face it, they pretty much suck lately.

Speaking of New York, the Giants disposed of their aforementioned counterpart in convincing fashion.  Here is a team that can beat anybody, or nobody, depending on what they had for breakfast I guess.  No rhyme or reason here.  They carry their own destiny now as they host division rival Dallas.  Talk about unpredictable performance.  With these two teams it could be 3-0 or 37-35.  Who knows?  While I may not be able to predict the over/under this game I can tell you the Giants come out on top.

So much for the magic.  No one gave the Bills much thought [except for your Vendor of Vision] in their contest with the blessed Denver Broncos. Like a hurricane it got ugly right about the time Buffalo scored back to back touchdowns in a span of seventeen seconds.  Four interceptions by Mr. Tebow brings reality back to the Mile High City.  Take heart Tim.  There are a lot of HOF QB’s with that kind of stat on their records.  I predict Denver plays everyone as they try to forget about last week and consolidate their gameplan.  They host the Kansas City Chiefs.  The Cheese spoilers have beaten some good teams but I feel them failing against the Bronco running game.  Denver wins at home.  The Bills face the Patriot machine and may win depending on how long Brady stays in.  A good game to take the underdog and the points.

San Francisco barely beat Seattle.  A late fumble saved them from defeat. Here is a team that has the defense to win but lacks the offense to go far in the playoffs.  Visiting the Rams should provide some respite since they can’t seem to score no matter which way the wind blows.  A low scoring Niner win is the prediction here.  Seattle finishes out the season against Arizona.  The Cardinals seem to be a team I can’t figure out.  They win when they’re not supposed to and vice- versa.  Let’s say the Seahawks should win.

Hard to believe but the Lions proved themselves to be another team that is potent on offense and solid on defense.  Blowing their way through the Chargers 38-10 they keep their playoff mindset going.  Luckily they play the Packers who have nothing to gain but pride in winning this game.  I predict a lot of starters sit for Green Bay and considering they have difficulty playing defense on a good day, allow the Lions to finish the season with a win.  San Diego faces their nemesis from across the bay and breezes to victory.

Masked Musings -  Duct tape is like”the force”.  It has a light side.  A dark side.  And it holds the world together.

Bye the week -  All the games are on Sunday, New Years Day.  What a way to start the year.

The Sauce for the rest of the regular season goes like this…

 Bengals over Ravens

Steelers down Browns

Texans defeat Titans

Jags break Colts

Eagles crush Redskins

Bears over Vikings

Falcons sack Bucs

Saints outscore Panthers
